Free Trader Badge for Your Website

If your business is listed on NearbyTraders, you can show a free trust badge on your site. Three styles, ready-to-paste embed code, and install instructions for the platforms most UK trades use.

Choose your badge style

Each badge links back to your NearbyTraders profile. Replace YOUR-LISTING-SLUG in the embed code with your listing URL slug — the bit after /directory/ in your profile address. Not sure what your slug is? Email us and we'll send it.

1. Light badge

Best for white or light-coloured website backgrounds.

How to add the badge to your website

Pick the platform your site is built on:

WordPress (block editor)
  1. Open the page or sidebar widget area where you want the badge (most traders use the footer or "About" page).
  2. Add a Custom HTML block from the block library.
  3. Paste the embed code from above into the block.
  4. Click Update or Publish. Preview the page to confirm the badge appears.

Tip: to show the badge in the footer of every page, add the same Custom HTML block to Appearance → Widgets → Footer.

Wix
  1. From the Wix editor, click Add Elements (+) → Embed Code → Embed HTML.
  2. Drag the HTML element to where you want the badge (footer or about section recommended).
  3. Click Enter Code and paste the embed code from above.
  4. Click Update, then Publish the site.
Squarespace
  1. Edit the page where you want the badge to appear.
  2. Click + Add Block → Code.
  3. Paste the embed code from above. Make sure the language is set to HTML and "Display Source" is unchecked.
  4. Save the block, then save the page.

Footer: add the same Code Block to Site Footer in the global footer settings to show on every page.

Raw HTML / hand-coded site
  1. Open the HTML file for the page (or template/partial — for example the footer include).
  2. Paste the embed code at the place you want the badge to render.
  3. Re-deploy the site. No additional CSS or JavaScript is required — the badge is a single SVG image hosted by NearbyTraders.

Why use the NearbyTraders badge

Trust signal for visitors

A third-party listing badge tells homeowners your business has been independently catalogued — not just self-claimed.

Free backlink to your profile

The badge links straight to your NearbyTraders directory page where customers can read your details and contact you.

Higher conversion on quotes

Trades using directory trust badges in their site footer typically see better contact-form completion rates than sites with no third-party signals.

Lightweight and fast

The badge is a single SVG image — under 2KB. It will not slow your site down and it scales crisply on any screen.

Who can use this badge

The badge is for traders who are listed on NearbyTraders. If you want a stronger signal — the verified trader badge — you'll need to claim and verify your listing first. The verification process is free and takes one short email exchange.

Don't have a listing yet? You can request one through the For Traders page. Most Kent traders are already in our database — we just need to confirm ownership.

Get your listing verified

Verified traders get a stronger badge variant, a verified mark on their profile and priority over unverified listings on town and trade pages. There is no fee for verification.
