Angle grinder disc size and speed checks
The diameter, fitting, disc type and speed rating all matter.
Match the permitted disc size and fitting
Read your model’s instructions for the permitted disc diameter, thickness and mounting system. Do not use a larger disc or remove a guard to make one fit.
Check the speed rating
The accessory’s marked maximum speed must meet or exceed the maximum speed required by the tool manufacturer. A variable-speed setting does not make an otherwise unsuitable accessory compatible.
Use the correct accessory and guard for the task
Cutting, grinding and sanding are different operations. The disc must be intended for the material and task, with the guard and mounting arrangement specified in the manual. Do not side-grind with a cut-off wheel.
