Confirm which collet is actually installed. Some references describe an optional collet sold separately. 1/4 inch and 6 mm shanks are different sizes.
Each row preserves the manufacturer’s field label. An optional or compatible collet is not a statement that it comes fitted to the tool.

What else needs to match?
Bosch Professional GKF 18V-8: buying checks
Use 1/4 inch shank cutters with the supplied UK collet. A 6 mm or 8 mm cutter requires its own approved matching collet.
- Match the cutter shank exactly to the approved collet actually installed; 6 mm is not 1/4 inch and 12 mm is not 1/2 inch.
- Check maximum cutter diameter, insertion depth and the chosen base in the tool manual.
- Keep the selected tool speed within the cutter’s rating and follow the maker’s material and feed guidance.
Makita RT0702C: buying checks
The 8 mm cutter search applies only when the approved 8 mm collet is fitted. It does not describe the contents of every UK kit.
- Read the installed collet size: 6 mm, 8 mm and 1/4 inch shanks are not interchangeable.
- Confirm the approved collet part and base configuration for your exact tool.
- Check cutter diameter, insertion depth, material and maximum speed in the tool and cutter instructions.
