Many Kent trade businesses are already listed on NearbyTraders — sourced from public records when we built the directory. Claiming your listing takes one email and unlocks the trust badge, the verified mark, and editorial control over your profile. It's free.

What "claiming" actually means

A claim is a one-time confirmation that a NearbyTraders profile belongs to you. We swap an unattributed directory entry for one that you control — you can correct details, choose which services to highlight, and request the verified mark. There is no contract, no monthly fee for the basic claim, and you can ask us to remove the listing entirely at any time.

The 3-step claim process

Send a short request. Use the Claim My Listing form. Tell us your business name, town and a contact number. If you already know your profile URL, paste it in.
Quick verification call. Within 2 business days an editor calls the number on your profile to confirm trading status. The call takes 2–3 minutes.
Receive your badge embed code. Your listing gets the verified mark and we email you the embed code for the trader badge. Add it to your site footer or about page.

Common questions from traders

Is the basic claim really free?
Yes. There is no fee to claim, verify, or have a basic profile on NearbyTraders. Paid Pro and Premium tiers exist for traders who want featured placement and analytics — see the For Traders page — but they're optional.

Will I get spammed with marketing?
No. We only email about your listing or about verification. Your contact details are never sold or shared.

How do I find my profile?
Search your town and trade on the Kent directory. If you can't find it, email us — we'll search the database for you.

What if there are duplicate listings for my business?
Tell us in the claim email and we'll merge or remove the duplicates as part of verification.

Can I remove my listing instead of claiming it?
Yes. If you'd rather not be on the directory, email us and we'll take the listing down.
