Before you buy
Measure hole centres, not overall length
Measure from the centre of one fixing hole to the centre of the other. Häfele’s handle tables list hole centres separately from overall length; do the same when comparing an offer. Manufacturer reference
Check the screw specification
Record door thickness and use the handle maker’s specified screw thread and usable length. Häfele’s examples list supplied screw sizes, but that does not make one screw suitable for every handle or door. Manufacturer reference
Count handles and fixings
Count each door and drawer, and check whether the offer contains one handle or a set. Confirm how many screws are included and whether the selected variant supplies the lengths you need.
Match the bit to the screw
Read the screw-head designation and match its tip family and size. Do not assume every cross-shaped screw takes the same bit. Check clearance for fingers and nearby doors before ordering the full quantity.
Your equipment checklist
Tick “Already have” when you own a suitable item or it is included in a kit you have chosen. Core means a role to cover, not a new purchase.

Tape measures
Measure fixing centres and door thickness. A clear millimetre scale helps keep the dimensions comparable.

Cabinet-handle fixing centres
Match the existing fixing pattern, then check projection, grip clearance, finish and included screw specification.

Screwdriver bit types and sets
Use the correct tip with a suitable screwdriver or holder you already have; a bit set alone is not a complete screwdriver.

Small-parts organisers
Keep old screws and handles together while checking the replacement. A container you already own works too.
