Before you buy
Measure the door and the gap separately
Record the door width and clearance at several points along its travel. Match both to the selected excluder’s dimensions and stated working range.
Choose for the floor surface
Tesa separates smooth-floor, uneven-floor and carpet versions. Its STANDARD brush is specified for smooth floors and gaps up to 12 mm; this figure applies to that product, not every door brush. Manufacturer reference
Check the adhesive surface
Tesa requires a clean surface for its adhesive brush and warns that removal can leave traces. Confirm suitability for the door finish before selecting a stick-on product. Manufacturer reference
Check how it affects the door
Follow the chosen product’s fitting instructions and check that the door can open, close and latch normally. A floor brush is a different product from a perimeter seal.
Your equipment checklist
Tick “Already have” when you own a suitable item or it is included in a kit you have chosen. Core means a role to cover, not a new purchase.

Tape measures
Measure the door width. Use an appropriate small scale as well if your tape cannot resolve the gap accurately.

Draught-excluder gap sizes
Choose the type, width and working gap for the door and floor. Buy one suitable excluder, not a pack of unrelated seal profiles.

Microfibre cloth sizes and packs
Useful for preparing the surface if the adhesive manufacturer permits it; use its specified cleaner and drying method.
