Microfibre cloth sizes and packs

Choose cloths around the surface and cleaning task, then compare their dimensions and care instructions. General-purpose, glass and polishing cloths may use different textures even when sold under the same brand. E-Cloth identifies a specific general-purpose cloth rather than treating every cloth as interchangeable. Keep the surface manufacturer’s cleaning guidance alongside the cloth instructions, especially for delicate finishes. Pack photography can also combine several colours or cloth types, so check exactly what the selected option supplies.

Buy microfibre cloths for a defined job: lifting dirt, finishing glass or another specified task. Similar colours and fibre blends do not establish identical use. Compare each cloth’s dimensions, surface guidance and care label before comparing the pack size.

Cleaning cloth or finishing cloth?

E-Cloth UK provides two useful examples of different roles. Its General Purpose Cloth is used damp for cleaning. Its Glass & Polishing Cloth is used to take moisture and marks from an already-clean, damp surface. Choosing a finishing cloth does not remove the need to clean the surface first.

Read the care label for that cloth

Both cited product pages exclude bleach, fabric softener and dryer sheets. Those are E-Cloth instructions for these products, not permission to wash every microfibre cloth at 90°C. The same brand’s washing guide gives cold-water and air-drying guidance for dusting products, demonstrating why a single temperature for every cleaning cloth is unhelpful.

For the glass cloth, follow its product page’s hang-drying instruction. The general E-Cloth care guide discusses broader drying options, but the exact item’s label is the better reference when guidance differs. Check whether you can provide the required wash and drying routine before choosing a large pack.

Compare useful cloths rather than the headline count

Read the contents line: a mixed cleaning kit may include different cloths or pads, while a multipack may repeat one type. Compare like-for-like jobs and dimensions. A photograph containing several colours does not by itself tell you how many cloths arrive or whether every colour is included.

Decide how many separate jobs you need to cover so that a used cloth does not become the default for every surface. Keep track of which cloth is for cleaning and which is for final polishing. Check the surface maker’s cleaning restrictions alongside the cloth instructions, particularly for coated finishes.
